About the Event
The Washington Refugee Resettlement Project (WRRP) invites you to a community-wide Conversation about helping resettle a refugee family in New Milford. Refugee community sponsorship allows us to welcome and integrate newcomers to our beautiful corner of Connecticut while also creating bonds among neighbors as we unite around a common cause. The Washington Council of Congregations (WCOC) will host this event.
All interested persons are encouraged to attend. Members of the WRRP leadership team will explain various levels of volunteer opportunities. WRRP will work collaboratively with Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services (IRIS) (www.iris.org) based in New Haven to apply as co-sponsor. Ashley Makar, IRIS Community Co-Sponsor Liaison, will tell us about IRIS and their role in a co-sponsorship of a refugee resettlement in Connecticut.
Everyone in the community is welcome to participate in this activity. If you are unable to attend but are interested in volunteering, please email info@wrrp.net.
